Okay, so, a few weeks ago, I noticed some nasty brown spots popping up on the leaves of my begonia. Not cool, right? My begonia, she’s usually a real showstopper. So, I started to get my hand dirty to figure out what was going on.
What I Did First
First things first, I grabbed my phone and took some pictures of the spots. Gotta document the evidence, you know? Then, I spent a good chunk of time online, just looking at pictures of other sick begonias. Sounds weird, but it helped!

Narrowing It Down
After a while, I realized it could be a few different things:
- Too much sun: My begonia was near a window, maybe getting blasted with light.
- Overwatering: I’m guilty of being a bit over-enthusiastic with the watering can sometimes.
- Fungal issues: This sounded scary, like some kind of plant disease!
- Bad Air:Is the air not moving about well.
My Action Plan
Here’s what I actually did to try and fix things:
- Moved the plant: I shifted my begonia to a spot with bright, but indirect light. Think “sunny room, but not right in the sunbeam.”
- Checked the soil: I stuck my finger in the dirt (classic move!). It was pretty damp, so I decided to hold off on watering for a while.
- Let it breathe: I make sure my begonia gets plenty of fresh air.
- Waited and watched: This was the hardest part. I just had to keep an eye on things and see if the spots got worse or better.
The Results (So Far!)
It’s been a couple of weeks, and I think things are looking up! No new spots have appeared, and the old ones don’t seem to be spreading. I’m still being super careful about watering, making sure the soil is dry before I even think about giving it a drink.
I am still keeping a close watch on my begonia and will continue to do so,I’ll keep you updated.
