Okay, so I’ve been wanting to grow my own macadamia nuts for, like, forever. I mean, who doesn’t love those crunchy, buttery little nuggets? Plus, they’re packed with good stuff, you know, healthy fats and vitamins and whatnot. I finally decided to take the plunge and get myself some macadamia trees.
First, I did a bit of digging around online. Turns out there are tons of places that sell these things! I found some cool-looking collections from some exotic plant sellers, and even stumbled upon some individual seedling trees that were up for grabs. It was almost overwhelming, to be honest.

But I didn’t want to just buy from anywhere. I wanted to make sure I was getting good quality trees. So, I looked into local nurseries and even some online shops that sell fruit trees. I figured they’d have some decent options, and I could maybe get some advice on picking the right ones for my yard.
After checking out a few different places, I finally settled on this one local nursery that had a pretty good reputation. I went down there, and they had a whole bunch of different fruit trees, including macadamias. They weren’t in full bloom yet but still looked healthy.
- I ended up picking out two young macadamia trees. They were a good size, not too big, not too small.
- The guy at the nursery gave me some tips on planting them and taking care of them.
- I brought them home, dug some holes in my backyard, and planted those bad boys!
It’s been a few weeks now, and they seem to be doing okay. I’ve been watering them regularly, like the guy told me to, and they are sprouting a lot of new leaves. It’s going to be a while before they actually start producing nuts, I know, but I’m super stoked to watch them grow.
I’ll definitely keep you guys updated on their progress. Maybe one day, I’ll be sharing my homegrown macadamia nuts with you all! Fingers crossed!
