Well, let me tell ya, if you got yourself a marigold plant, you gotta be careful with how much water you give it. You see, marigolds ain’t like them fussy plants that need all kinds of pampering. They’re tough, and they can go a little while without a drink, but you still gotta make sure you ain’t letting them dry out too much. So, how much water does a marigold need every day? Let me explain it to ya in a way that makes sense.

First thing you gotta know is that marigolds like their soil to be a bit damp, but not soaked all the time. You don’t want the ground to be swimming in water, that’s for sure! You see, when you water them too much, the roots can start to rot. And we don’t want that—no way! So, I’d say, water your marigolds about once or twice a week. That should do it. But, if it’s been real hot or dry, you might need to give ‘em a drink a little more often.

But here’s the thing: marigolds don’t mind missing a drink here and there. They can take a bit of drought once they’re used to the ground, so don’t go panicking if you forget to water them for a day or two. It’s more important not to drown them in water. Too much water is worse than too little, that’s for sure!

Now, you gotta remember one thing about marigolds—they love that sun! If you put ‘em in a sunny spot, they’ll be happy as a clam. And that sun makes the soil dry out quicker, so you might need to water ‘em more often when they’re in full sunlight. But you still gotta be careful not to overdo it. Too much water, and they might start showing signs like wilted leaves or yellowing. That’s a sign they’re thirsty, but not too thirsty!

When you water ‘em, try to do it in the morning. That way, the sun can dry up the soil and the leaves during the day. Helps keep any nasty fungus or diseases away. If you water ‘em in the evening, the soil stays damp longer, and that can lead to all sorts of problems like mold or rot. No one wants that!

  • Water your marigolds: Once or twice a week is usually enough.
  • Don’t overwater: Too much water will rot the roots, and we don’t want that.
  • Watering frequency: Might need to increase if it’s real hot or dry.
  • Sun is their friend: They need lots of sun, but that means they might need more water too.
  • Best time to water: In the morning so the soil dries out by the time the sun sets.

If you’re growing marigolds in a small pot, you might need to water ‘em a bit more often. That’s ‘cause the pot don’t hold onto moisture as well as the ground does. But if you’ve got ‘em in a big ol’ garden or a big pot, they’ll do just fine with a little less water. So, make sure you give ‘em the right space to grow and breathe.

One more thing I gotta mention: marigolds are good at keeping pests away. Them deer, rabbits, and other critters don’t like the smell of marigolds, so they’ll keep their distance. Ain’t that nice? Less worry about pests munching on your pretty flowers!

So, to sum it up: marigolds like a little water, but not too much. They’ll do fine if you forget to water ‘em once in a while, but if you see them looking all wilty and sad, it’s time to give ‘em a good drink. Just make sure the soil don’t stay too wet, or you’ll end up with a sick plant. And don’t forget, they love that sunshine, so make sure they’re getting plenty of that too!
