Alright, let’s jaw about them full grown black diamond crape myrtle white trees, the ones folks like to plant ’round their yards. Now, I ain’t no fancy gardener, but I’ve seen enough plants growin’ in my time to tell ya a thing or two.
First off, these black diamond ones, they ain’t like them old scraggly bushes you see growin’ wild. These here are supposed to be somethin’ special. Folks say they get to be ’bout 10 or 12 feet tall when they’re all grown up. That’s pretty big, like taller than your porch roof, ya know? And they get bushy too, ’bout 8 feet wide, they say. Plenty of shade if you plant it right.
But listen here, how big it gets depends on where you plant it. If you stick it in one of them pots, it ain’t gonna get as big, see? The roots need space to spread out, just like a person needs room to stretch their legs. So, if you want a big ol’ tree, plant it in the ground, not in no tiny pot.
Now, I hear some folks talkin’ ’bout plantin’ these for hedges or borders. That’s when you put a bunch of ’em in a row, like a fence but made of trees. Sounds nice, I guess, if you got the space and the patience. But if you just want one pretty tree, somethin’ to look at, then you gotta pick the right spot. Don’t go plantin’ it too close to the house or nothin’. Give it room to grow, I say.
Them black diamond ones, they grow pretty fast, too. Faster than my grandbaby grows, that’s for sure! They say they can grow more than two feet in a year, if they like where they’re planted. That means you gotta water ’em good, ‘specially when they’re young. Can’t just stick ’em in the ground and forget about ’em. They need lookin’ after, just like anything else.
- Watering is important.
- Give them space to grow.
- Don’t plant them in small pots.
And speaking of growin’, I’ve heard tell these trees come in different colors. Green leaves, red leaves, even some that look almost black. Fancy, huh? But we’re talkin’ ’bout the white ones today. Them white flowers are pretty, I reckon. Like little white clouds all over the tree. They bloom in the summer, I think, but don’t quote me on that. Like I said, I ain’t no expert.
Now, some folks get all worked up about the perfect soil and the perfect fertilizer. Me, I just say plant it in good dirt, not that hard clay stuff. And if it looks like it needs a little somethin’ extra, give it some of that plant food from the store. Don’t go overboard, though. Too much of a good thing can be bad, ya know. Just like too much sweet tea can give you the bellyache.
Another thing to remember is them black diamond trees lose their leaves in the winter. Don’t go freakin’ out when they start lookin’ all bare and spindly. That’s just what they do. They’ll come back in the spring, good as new. Just gotta be patient, that’s all.
So, there you have it. A little bit about them full grown black diamond crape myrtle white trees. They get big, they grow fast, they need water, and they got pretty white flowers. Ain’t nothin’ too complicated about it. Just plant ’em, take care of ’em, and enjoy ’em. And if you don’t know what you’re doin’, ask somebody who does. No shame in that.
And one more thing, them crape myrtles, big and small, they’re good for the birds and the bees too. Always nice to have a little nature around, don’t you think?
