So, I wanted to figure out what flowers are actually in season during September. You know, for decorating my place and maybe making a few bouquets. I’ve always loved having fresh flowers around, but I never really paid attention to what’s actually available at different times of the year. So, I decided to do a little digging.
First, I hit up a few local flower shops to see what they had in stock. I chatted with the florists, asking them about what’s popular in September and what they’d recommend. They were super helpful, pointing out some flowers I hadn’t even heard of before.

Then, I spent some time on the internet, just browsing through flower websites and gardening blogs. I made a list of all the flowers that seemed to be mentioned for September, jotting down notes about their colors, shapes, and what kind of vibe they give off.
After that, I tried to find some pictures of flower arrangements specifically made with September blooms. I wanted to see how people were using them and what combinations looked good. Let me tell you, there are some seriously talented florists out there.
Here’s What I Found
Here is what I found during my little adventure:
- Chrysanthemums: They are everywhere in the fall!
- Dahlias: They come in various colors and sizes, so pretty.
- Asters: Those are some cute, daisy-like flowers.
- Sunflowers: They’re still hanging around in early September, which is a good idea.
- Zinnias: Super colorful and cheerful.
So yeah, that was my little flower project for the week. I ended up buying a bunch of chrysanthemums and dahlias, and they look amazing in my living room. Now I feel like I have a better handle on what flowers to look for each month. I might even make this a regular thing!
