Growing OHara Rose Pink: Tips and Tricks for Success

First off, they say it’s from some fella named G. Delbard, over in France. Don’t know him from Adam, but I guess he knows his roses. These here pink ones, they ain’t just any pink, they’re a real pretty pink, the kind that makes you think of a little girl’s Sunday dress or maybe that strawberry shortcake I used to make for the kids.

Now, they grow pretty tall, see? Like, taller than my ol’ Betsy, the milk cow, bless her soul. Three or four feet, they say. And ’bout the same wide. So, you gotta give ’em some space, don’t go plantin’ ’em too close together like sardines in a can.

They also say somethin’ ’bout USDA zone 5b through 11. Sounds like somethin’ them city folk would say. All I know is, if it gets too cold, you gotta cover ’em up, like you would a little baby on a winter night. And if it gets too hot, well, you gotta water ’em good, give ’em a drink so they don’t dry up like a prune in the sun.

Some folks over in Ecuador, they grow these roses too. Heard they send ’em all over the world. Must be nice to have flowers that travel so far, seein’ more of the world than I ever did. They say these roses come in different lenghts, just like my darn fishing rods.

  • Height: 3′ to 4′ (90 to 120cm) – That’s taller than my porch railing!
  • Width: 3′ to 4′ (90 to 120cm) – Gonna need some space, just like my old man did on the sofa.
  • Growing Zones: USDA zone 5b through 11 – Wherever that is, gotta keep ’em warm or cool, dependin’ on the weather.
  • Breeder: GEORGES DELBARD – French fella, sounds fancy.

And they talk about how these pink roses mean somethin’, somethin’ ’bout sweetness and femininity and showin’ you appreciate someone. Well, I guess that makes sense. A pretty rose is a nice thing to give, better than a dead chicken, that’s for sure.

You can find these Pink O’Hara roses at that Parfum Flower Company place, wherever that is. Sounds like another one of them fancy city places. But I reckon they know their flowers, sellin’ roses and all.

Now, I ain’t never been one for fancy talk, but I can tell you this: these here O’Hara roses, they’re somethin’ special. They’re purdy to look at, and I guess they make folks happy. And that’s ’bout all that matters, ain’t it?

So, if you’re lookin’ for a flower to give to your sweetheart, or just somethin’ to brighten up your own day, you could do worse than these here pink O’Hara roses. They’re a little bit of sunshine, even on a cloudy day. And who doesn’t need a little bit of sunshine in their life?

Growing OHara Rose Pink: Tips and Tricks for Success

Just remember, plant ’em right, water ’em good, and they’ll bloom purdy as you please. And that’s the truth, as sure as I’m standin’ here.

I always say, gardening is like life, you gotta put in the work to see the beauty. These roses ain’t no different. They need care and attention, just like everything else worth having. You can’t just stick ‘em in the ground and forget about ‘em. You gotta nurture them, watch ‘em grow, and protect ‘em from harm. And when they finally bloom, well, it’s just about the best feeling in the world.

So go on, get yourself some O’Hara roses. Plant ‘em, tend to ‘em, and enjoy ‘em. They’ll bring a little bit of joy into your life, I guarantee it. And ain’t that what it’s all about? Finding joy in the simple things, like a purdy pink rose.

I remember when my grandpappy used to grow roses, they weren’t fancy like these O’Hara ones, but they were just as purdy in their own way. He always said, “A rose is a rose, no matter the name.” But I reckon even he woulda been impressed by these here pink beauties. They got a color that just catches your eye and a smell that’s sweet as honey. Makes you wanna just sit and stare at ‘em all day long.

But don’t just take my word for it. Go out and see for yourself. Find yourself a Pink O’Hara rose and take a good look. Smell it, touch it, and let it brighten up your day. You won’t regret it, I promise you that. And if you do, well, then you can just come on back and tell me I was wrong. But I don’t think you will.
