Now, I tell you somethin’, planting marigolds with tomatoes, it ain’t no fancy trick, but boy does it work wonders. You see, them marigolds, they bring in all them good bugs. Bees, butterflies, ladybugs – oh, they just love marigolds. And when they come around, they help with the pollination of tomatoes. You want more tomatoes? Well, marigolds help with that, that’s for sure.

But it ain’t just about the pollination, nah, marigolds, they also chase away the bad bugs. Them little nasty ones like nematodes, aphids, whiteflies, and tomato hornworms – they all hate marigolds. So, by plantin’ them together, your tomatoes don’t get eaten up so much. It’s like you get yourself some natural pest control without any of that chemical stuff, you know?

Now, how do you do it right? Well, you got to make sure to plant ’em at the right distance. For them African marigolds, keep ’em ’bout 10 to 12 inches apart, and for them French marigolds, 8 to 10 inches will do. Oh, and if you’re using pots, well, that works too. Just make sure there’s space for them roots to stretch out.

And it ain’t just tomatoes that love marigolds, no sir! Them marigolds are good for all kinds of plants, like cucumbers, cabbage, and even potatoes. But listen here, don’t go plantin’ them with beans or cabbage, they don’t get along too well. Ain’t no need to mess up your garden by puttin’ ’em together if they don’t like each other, right?

One more thing! You got to know that marigolds and tomatoes love the same kinda weather. They both like it warm and sunny, so if you got a greenhouse or a sunny spot, that’s where you want to plant ’em. Marigolds don’t need too much fussin’ over, just some water now and then, and they’ll do their job, keepin’ them pests away while lookin’ pretty with their bright colors.

Some folks might ask, “Why bother plantin’ marigolds at all?” Well, let me tell you, it’s like havin’ a guard dog for your garden. You plant them marigolds, and they’ll protect your tomatoes, keepin’ them strong and healthy. You’ll get better tomatoes, and your garden will look real nice too, with them bright flowers all over the place.

And the bees… Oh, the bees will be happy too! They’ll come buzzin’ around, pollinatin’ your tomatoes, helpin’ the plants grow even better. If you care about havin’ a healthy garden and a good tomato crop, marigolds are your best friend.

  • Brings in good bugs like bees and ladybugs
  • Helps tomatoes with pollination
  • Repels bad bugs like nematodes and whiteflies
  • Easy to grow and takes care of itself
  • Works with other plants like cucumbers and squash

So there you have it, plantin’ marigolds with your tomatoes just makes sense. You get rid of pests, make the bees happy, and your tomatoes thank you by growin’ big and strong. Ain’t no reason not to try it, it’s easy, and your garden will be better off for it.
