Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here flower, the Pink Ohara Rose. It ain’t just any rose, mind you. It’s somethin’ special, real pretty-like.

This Pink Ohara, she’s a fancy one, I reckon. Folks say she’s a “luxury” flower, good for weddin’s and such. I ain’t never been to a fancy weddin’, but I seen this rose, and it’s a beaut. Full of petals, light pink, looks like somethin’ you’d see in a picture book.

Pink Ohara Rose: How to Make It Thrive in Your Garden

They say she smells real nice too. A “strong fragrance,” they call it. Like candy, almost. I ain’t smelled too many fancy perfumes, but this rose, she smells like sunshine and happiness, if you ask me. And them petals! They say there’s 70 to 100 of ’em, all curled up in a cupped shape. Just like a little teacup, almost.

Now, I ain’t no gardener, but I hear tell these roses need some lookin’ after. They like sunshine, lots of it, they say. At least six hours a day. And they like good dirt, not that hard clay stuff we got out back. Gotta be the kind that drains well. And water, but not too much, and not on the leaves, mind you. Just on the roots, where it belongs.

  • Sun: Gotta have lots of sun, at least 6 hours.
  • Dirt: Needs good dirt, the kind that drains well, and full of that food stuff, what they call “nutrients”.
  • Water: Not too much, not too little, just right, and don’t get it on them leaves.

And feedin’ ’em too! They like that 10-10-10 stuff, they say. Sprinkle it ’round the bottom and scratch it in. But make sure the ground’s wet first, so you don’t burn them roots. Gotta water good the day before, that’s what they say.

And then there’s the cuttin’ and snippin’. Prunin’, they call it. Gotta keep ’em trimmed up, so they grow good and strong. And them old flowers, when they start to look sad and droopy, you gotta snip ’em off too. “Deadheadin’,” that’s the word. Keeps the plant healthy and makes more flowers grow, I guess.

This Pink Ohara, she grows pretty tall, they say. Three or four feet, maybe more. And just as wide. So you gotta give her some room to spread out. Can’t be crampin’ her in no tiny pot. She needs space to breathe, just like the rest of us.

I heard they grow these roses in France, which is way across the ocean. Fancy, huh? And they got a patent on ’em, which means nobody else can just go ’round growin’ ’em and callin’ ’em Pink Ohara. It’s like their own special recipe, I reckon.

So, there you have it. The Pink Ohara Rose. A real looker, smells good, needs a bit of fussin’, but worth it, I’d say. If you want somethin’ special, somethin’ pretty, somethin’ to make you smile, this here rose is just the ticket. She plays well with other flowers too, like that Pink Mondial rose or them white anemones.

This rose looks like it could steal your heart, especially if you’re plannin’ on makin’ your own weddin’ flowers. Lots of brides like ’em on account of their looks. She’s a light pink color, very full in bloom.

Now, some folks ask about what this rose means. All flowers mean somethin’, I guess. But this one, to me, she just means pretty. She means happy. She means somethin’ special and worth takin’ care of. And that’s all there is to it, plain and simple. No need to get all fancy and complicated.

If you are going to take care of one, make sure you plant them in the right place. USDA zone 5b through 11, whatever that means. Just make sure it’s warm enough, I say.
