Alright, listen up, y’all. Them pretty little impatiens, they’re nice to look at, but them bugs, they love ’em too. And we ain’t got no time for no buggy plants, no sirree. So, I’m gonna tell ya how to get rid of them critters, the way I do it, plain and simple.
First off, you gotta keep your eyes peeled. Look real close at them leaves, under ’em too. If you see little green bugs, them’s aphids. They suck the life outta your plants, make ’em all weak and wimpy. If you don’t see many, just squish ’em with your fingers. Yeah, just like that. Get your hands dirty, it ain’t gonna hurt ya. But if there’s a whole bunch, then we gotta do somethin’ more.
Now, sometimes you get them caterpillars munchin’ on your impatiens. Big green ones, little tiny ones, they all make holes in them leaves. If you see ’em, pick ’em off and stomp on ’em. That’ll teach ’em! If there’s too many to pick off, you can try sprayin’ ’em off with the hose. Blast them good!
- Watering right is important too. Don’t just sprinkle the top, give them impatiens a good soakin’ once in a while. Helps keep them strong and healthy, and maybe washes away some of them bugs too.
- And don’t forget to look for thrips, those sneaky little things like to hide in the flowers. They can make your pretty blooms all messed up. If you got thrips, you might need to get some of that bug spray stuff from the store.
Sometimes you get them other little bugs, the ones you can barely see. They make the leaves look all spotted and yucky. That’s when you gotta get serious. You can try washin’ the plants with some soapy water. Just a little bit of dish soap in a bucket of water, not too much. Spray it all over the plants, top and bottom of the leaves. That’ll bother them bugs, make ‘em wanna leave.
Now, if that don’t work, you might have to go to the store and get some of that bug spray. The stuff that kills bugs. But be careful with that stuff, it’s strong. Read the directions real good, and don’t go sprayin’ it all over the place. Just spray the plants that got the bugs, and try not to get it on yourself.
And remember, keepin’ your impatiens healthy is the best way to keep the bugs away. Make sure they get enough sun, enough water, and some good soil. Don’t just stick ’em in the ground and forget about ’em. Give them some love, and they’ll give you pretty flowers. And that’s all there is to it.
Another thing, don’t overcrowd your plants. Give them impatiens some room to breathe. If they’re all bunched up together, it’s like a buffet for bugs. They can hop from one plant to another, easy as pie. So, space them out a bit, let the air circulate, and that’ll help keep them bugs from settlin’ in.
And one more thing, if you’ve got some impatiens that are just too far gone, all covered in bugs and lookin’ sickly, well, sometimes you just gotta pull them up and throw them away. Yeah, it’s sad, but it’s better than lettin’ them bugs spread to all your other plants. Just get rid of ’em and start fresh. That’s the way it goes sometimes. You gotta be tough, just like them impatiens try to be.
So that’s it. Keep your eyes open, squish the bugs you see, wash your plants with soapy water if you have to, and if things get real bad, get some bug spray. And most importantly, keep your plants healthy and strong. That’s the best way to keep them bugs from botherin’ ya. Now, go on and take care of them impatiens, and don’t let them bugs win!
