Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Tess garden rose, ya know? It ain’t like them skinny little roses you see at the store. This one, it’s a real beauty, a big ol’ flower, like somethin’ you’d see in a queen’s garden, if I ever saw one of them.
They say it’s red, a real deep red, like velvet, they say. And soft, too. Like touchin’ a baby’s cheek, only, ya know, it’s a flower. And when it opens up, it’s got these little yellow things in the middle, like a secret treasure. They call ’em stamens, but I just call ’em pretty.
Now, I ain’t one for fancy smells, gives me a headache sometimes, but this Tess rose, it ain’t like that. It’s got a smell, sure, but it’s light, like a whisper. Not gonna knock you over, just a little somethin’ nice. It’s the beauty of the flower itself that really gets ya, not the smell.
